Things already sucked at the “Great American State Fair” on the National Mall in DC this week as, per USA Today at least 10 states and territories refused to participate, leading one 72 year-old retired teacher from Massachusetts, who didn’t even ask anyone if she could occupy her state’s booth to simply show up with cases of maple syrup and kids’ coloring books to hand out.
From 8 am to 9 pm, every day of the fair. Then there were generator issues, leading to melted ice cream and a shutdown of the ferris wheel on Thursday. Rain came down hard, very hard, on Friday.
Then there was Wednesday’s incident starring Gian “Manny” Rachtelli, a 54 year-old MAGA Z-lister who, according to the Daily Beast, was livestreaming himself enjoying a performance by a troupe of female acrobats – and enjoying it a little too much, per a National Park Police arrest report.
One witness, (Witness 2) stated per his voluntary witness statement; “He returned for the second show, and I saw him with his hand in his pants likely doing what we all thought he was doing.” Another witness, (Witness 3) stated in his voluntary witness statement; “I was approached by a female member of the acrobat team who had noticed a older white male that was making her & other female performer uncomfortable. They informed me that they noticed him making lewd gestures in his pants (as if he was attempting to/masturbating) while they were performing.” Upon collection of the third witness statement from (Witness 1), who stated in her voluntary witness statement; “I was witnessing the cirque Mechanics performance on June 25 2026 at the great American State fair, and standing behind gentlemen and overalls. He was vaping and filming the female performers. He then stuck his right hand down his pants and it moved back-and-forth approximately six times very uncomfortable. in what appeared to be self pleasure or masturbation.”
Due to the aforementioned statements collected from witnesses on scene, RACHTELLI was charged with: Lewd, Indecent, Or Obscene Acts (all Other Offenses) | DCC 22DC1312
The report did not mention that Rachtelli was wearing an Uncle Sam costume at the time.
