MAGA oligarchs Larry and David Ellison’s quest to acquire Warner Bros-Discovery and subsequently destroy CNN like they did with CBS was hit with a self-inflicted setback Monday after California Attorney General Rob Bonta’s office canceled a meeting over leaks to the Wall Street Journal. Leaks specifically about a secret Friday meeting over the proposed terms of a settlement that would allow the two sociopaths to buy up a slimmer Warner Bros portfolio that leaves some assets spun off.
Bonta confirmed the cancellation in a statement to Joe Flint, the same Wall Street Journal reporter who picked up the leaks because why the hell not, the guy already knows the story and all the players. “Not only did Paramount leak the alleged substance of settlement discussions, but they misrepresented these discussions, demonstrating a lack of good faith,” Bonta said. “As soon as Paramount stops playing games and engages sincerely, my office is happy to meet again.”
