In the most on-brand moment of the Trump Regime’s frivolous cruelties, the Associated Press reports that Border Patrol agents arrested 48 year-old Luis Manuel Aviles as he stepped out of his home in Key West, Florida on Saturday, just days before his son, US Navy sailor Joshua Aviles, returned home from his nine-month-long deployment aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

“Having a family member in the military is not a free pass to violate our nation’s laws,” DHS said Sunday, adding that the Trump administration “does not pick and choose which laws to enforce.”

Aviles has a valid work permit, per the AP. There’s no reason to arrest or deport him.
