It’s good… From a Monday press release by Picasso-faced Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s Senate campaign: “Today, Ken Paxton unveiled his plan to be a champion for the people of Texas as they grow increasingly concerned about data centers in Texas. This comes after months of Attorney General Paxton listening to the needs and concerns of Texans and national security experts. ‘Texans deserve a fighter to lead and represent them as we address the growing presence of data centers in Texas and stop their negative impact on our neighborhoods. While James Talarico and his campaign infrastructure accept millions of dollars from data center-affiliated donors and put their interests first, I will lead with Texans at the forefront. That’s why I am proud to release my Texas First Data Center Plan that will put Texans first and protect our communities,’ said Attorney General Paxton.”

No, no. The joke isn’t that the corrupt son of a bitch has taken in nearly half a million in contributions from data center operators, nor that he’s announcing this a US Senate candidate rather than his current position from which he could immediately announce an investigation, issue subpoenas, file lawsuits, and so on that would have a much more immediate chilling effect on his donors than any aspirational policy platform if he does manage to defeat Talarico this November. Both of those are “funny” in the way that they’re totally on-brand, standard operating procedure for the 21st century’s most corrupt and fundamentally debased American politician not named Donald Trump.

Now THAT is how you do unintentionally ironic comedy, people. ESPECIALLY when there was no real actual need to use AI image generation there – it’s not like there’s any imagery depicting say, a server rack or an electric bill that they didn’t want to have to buy from those Getty Images cartel shitbags – and it could’ve been cranked out in under 10 minutes by a novice Photoshop user.

All they needed to do was justify and arrange the text layers on top of some template. Or, barring that, just had some other AI image generator make it and then paste it into the tweet. But no, Team Paxton just had to use Grok AI to generate it, automatically marking the anti-data center “fact sheet” tweet as being generated by a data center. Probably one somewhere in Texas too since that’s where Ketamine Brain’s corporate headquarters are, and the tweet unambiguously adding a tiny fraction of a cent to this month’s electricity bill for every middle-class ratepayer in the Lone Star State.
