A new Marist College survey of likely voters in Iowa finds Dem Josh Turek leading MAGA Congresswoman Ashley Hinson 50 to 42 percent in the race for the seat being vacated by contemptible loser Joni Ernst’s retirement, whilst in the gubernatorial race – seen as more likely of a D flip than the Senate seat – other Dem Rob Sand is up 52 to 42 percent over Republican Zach Lahn.
The pollster also found that “41 percent of registered voters in Iowa approve of the job President Trump is doing in office while a majority of voters (58 percent) disapprove, 46 percent of voters statewide say their personal family finances have gotten worse in the past year,” numbers that aren’t all that wacky considering how it tracks with nationwide polling as well as the five stories a day printed by national media outlets quoting a struggling farmer complaining about diesel and fertilizer prices hurting them on top of the trade war fucking them out of access to this or that market.
Then there’s what Hinson’s internal polling is probably saying, judging by this tweet:
.@hinsonashley, it's easy to send a tweet but when you had the chance to vote to end this war, you chose not to. You voted seven times to continue it, including just last week. It's time to actually end the forever wars and put Iowa and Iowans first.
Glad you're finally… https://t.co/Myd7lvsT0y

Yeah it’s messy given Turek’s response and all the fact-checking shit, but right in the middle there you can see Hinson desperately pleading for an end to that which she voted to continue.
In related news a Suffolk University survey of likely voters in Michigan finds Dem Abdul El-Sayed leading MAGA former Congressman Mike Rogers 47 to 40 percent, which is pretty goddamned pathetic for Roge considering he got more than 40 percent of the vote when he just barely lost to Democrat now-Senator Elissa Slotkin in 2024 – while Trump carried the state.
