Jessica Watkins, a top lieutenant of Oath Keepers founder Stewie Rhodes, was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison on Friday following her conviction on a charge of conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding for her role in the group’s January 6th Capitol coup attempt, CBS’s Rob Legare reports.
Watkins was acquitted on the seditious conspiracy count that saw her fellow terrorists Rhodes and Kelly Meggs sent away for longer bids on Thursday. Also note that Watkins is a trans woman formerly named Jeremy Watkins until she transitioned in 2004 shortly after going AWOL from the army following deployments to Afghanistan. She’s not the only one either, as Portland-area QAnon fan Lilith Saer aka Drakken Saer was sentenced last month to a fine and probation on a misdemeanor plea deal for entering the Capitol during the insurrection.
