The Washington Post sent reporters out in the field to check in with voters casting early ballots and get their reactions to Trump’s Coronavirus infection.
In Maine they spoke with Ron Dyer, a Vietnam veteran who “said he voted against Trump because he thought the president was too close to Russian President Vladimir Putin. ‘The country’s going to turn communist if Trump gets reelected,’ he said, and then raised two fingers pressed closely together. ‘He and Putin are like this.’ Dyer said he thought the president ‘got [covid-19] because he deserved it — not wearing a mask, and all that.'”
