Describing convicted felon President Trump's "Liberation Day" tariff launch on Wednesday as leading to a moment where the economic backlash to it "may well liberate Lutnick from his role in the administration," Politico reports that no fewer than six sources are eager for weasely Commerce Secretary Coward Nutlick (teehehehehe) to be fired over policy decisions that are actually Trump's.
"I think people would take special pleasure in blaming him," one source said, not even aware they're perpetuating the "he cannot fail, he can only be failed" mentality so central to Trump's power.
The person continued saying Lutnick is constantly in the Oval Office, giving Trump "bad advice, pushing more aggressive tariffs." Another source said Lutnick's "a new voice at the table pushing crazy shit. I don't know anyone that isn't pissed off at him." This is all so fucking stupid, lol.
It's not like Lutnick is in good standing with others in the regime – that was obvious enough on Sunday when some CBS News guy announced on air that the White House just said no when they asked if he could come on air on three fucking days before his signature policy initiative is supposed to kick in – or that that he's giving good advice on how to proceed with the tariff plan. None of this is unbelievable. It's that Trump is supposed to be an adult capable of ignoring batshit stupid advice from the mutants he surrounds himself with. No matter how much of a twat Lutnick at the end of the day this is Trump's call. Mike Flynn will tweet some shit at him to put Pfizer executives on a plane to CECOT in El Salvador and Trump will (probably, ultimately) ignore it, so what does that say about his capacity if he's not ignoring the politically suicidal dumbassery of Lutnick's advice?
As if on cue, the fat fuck just posted "Senator Tim Kaine, who ran against me with Crooked Hillary in 2016, is trying to halt our critical Tariffs on deadly Fentanyl coming in from Canada. We are making progress to end this terrible Fentanyl Crisis, but Republicans in the Senate MUST vote to keep the National Emergency in place, so we can finish the job, and end the scourge. By their weakness, the Democrats have allowed Fentanyl to get out of hand. The Republicans and I have reversed that course, strongly and quickly. Major additional progress is being made. Don't let the Democrats have a Victory. It would be devastating for the Republican Party and, far more importantly, for the United States. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" apparently referring to some non-binding Senate resolution reasserting Congressional oversight on tariffs, something they surrendered last month.
Lutnick prooooobably didn't write that.
The rest of the story, while not directly about Lutnick, also says a lot about how little influence Team Orange and the GOP have on their ship's captain as he steers it toward the rocks, with one "White House ally" saying "everybody" in DC is freaking out about what happens on Wednesday.
Another says corporate America has "no optimism" right now. "They know tariffs are coming, and their hope is that the damage will be fast and significant enough to quickly have the administration backtrack." Another described Trump as about as maniacally power-hungry as you'd expect with leaving nations at his mercy. Donald "likes the shock and awe," said the regime official. "Each country needs to panic and call… Trump wants to hear you grovel and say you'll cut a deal."
Asked if the "groveling," has had any effect ahead of Wednesday, the person said "It depends. Some will cut a deal and some just won't and will get pounded. Then we'll see how fast they start dealing."
