“At my direction, I am deploying DOJ agents to ICE facilities – and wherever ICE comes under siege – to safeguard federal agents, protect federal property, and immediately arrest all individuals engaged in any federal crime. Pursuant to President Trump’s recent executive action, I am also instructing the Joint Terrorism Task Forces across the country to disrupt and investigate all entities and individuals engaged in acts of domestic terrorism, including the repeated acts of violence and obstruction against federal agents. The Department of Justice will seek the most serious available charges against all participants in these criminal mobs, including conspiracy offenses, assault offenses, civil disorder offenses, and terrorism offenses. While these never-ending attacks are designed to break our will, they only strengthen our resolve to complete the work begun. To that end, I have directed the FBI, DEA, ATF, and USMS to accelerate our efforts alongside the Department of Homeland Security to locate, apprehend, detain, prosecute, and remove all illegal aliens present in our country.”
“The rule of law will prevail,” Bondi continued under the cutoff, closing with that further mutilation of irony’s corpse. It’s a nice capstone to the overall maddeningly absurd directive. It’d be one thing if she were deploying the FBI, ATF, DEA, and the US Marshals Service to guard, say, TurningPoint USA events. That’d be more of the usual wasteful political favoritism we’ve come to expect from this regime but it’s hard to argue that the MAGA “youth” organization hasn’t been subjected to targeted violence recently. Plus most college kids, even conservative ones, aren’t packing while on campus.
ICE is, um, not a college political organization/slush fund full of defenseless civilians. They just got fucking $100 billion from the Big Beautiful Piece of Shit Bill. This makes about as much sense as Pete Hegseth ordering the Marines to protect Army bases – actually that might even kind of undersell it because at least both of those service branches are within his department. Bondi’s just handing her resources to Kristi Noem’s DHS which, again, just got $100 billion from the GOP to spend on ICE.
And, on related note, she’ll have about 20 fewer FBI agents for the assignment as the AP reports K$H just fired the ones who kneeled in solidarity with protestors to try to deescalate a tense situation in DC during the height of the George Floyd protests more than five fucking years ago.
Then in more related news, a Friday regime DOJ press release says that “A federal grand jury has returned a two-count indictment charging three women – two from Southern California and one from Colorado – with following a United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent home, livestreaming their pursuit and then posting the victim’s home address on Instagram, the Justice Department announced today. The grand jury on Tuesday and unsealed today charged following defendants with one count of conspiracy and one count of publicly disclosing the personal information of a federal agent: Cynthia Raygoza, 37, of Riverside; Ashleigh Brown, 38, of Aurora, Colorado; and Sandra Carmona Samane, 25, of Panaroma City. Brown and Samane have been arrested on federal criminal complaints. Brown, who also is charged in a separate case with assault on a federal officer, is in federal custody without bond. Samane is free on $5,000 bond. Their arraignments are scheduled for September 30 and October 9, respectively. Law enforcement is continuing its search for Raygoza.” Grand jurors can’t sink them all.
