National Zero’s embargo of covering “The View” will again be lifted temporarily to report that the show’s producers are experiencing a great deal of difficulty finding a right-wing host to fill the void left by Meghan McCain’s departure in July, per Politico Playbook. The prolonged absence of a source of conflict likely explains why The Hill and Mediaite readers haven’t had to suffer through insipid coverage of every single fucking little argument that happened on air over the last few months, as the show has rotated through a series of guest Republicans who probably didn’t feel comfortable enough yet to lock horns with the likes of Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar.
Playbook says the slim pickings are owed to The View’s strict criteria in a new Conservative co-host, writing “They will not consider a Republican who is a denier of the 2020 election results, embraced the January 6 riots, or is seen as flirting too heavily with fringe conspiracy theories or the MAGA wing of the GOP. But at the same time, the host must have credibility with mainstream Republicans, many of whom still support Donald Trump.” So yeah, good luck with that.
Joe Concha was not quoted in the Playbook report. Whether this was because they did not ask him or if he was in his basement crying and writing dark poetry on printer paper is unknown. National Zero’s self-imposed embargo on reporting on The View is now back in effect.
