The CEO of Delta Airlines sent a letter to the Department of Justice asserting that passengers who have been convicted of disrupting a flight be put on an industry-wide no-fly list that would prevent them from flying in the future, the Associated Press reports.
“This action will help prevent future incidents and serve as a strong symbol of the consequences of not complying with crew member instructions on commercial aircraft,” Bastian wrote in the letter furnished to The Associated Press by Delta Air Lines.
The frequency of incidents requiring police intervention on a flight shot up during the pandemic to 4.9 per 10,000 flights. Many of the issues on flights revolve around the requirements to wear masks during the pandemic, something conservatives have been programmed to fight against.
