Michael Glassner, Sarah Palin’s former chief of staff who managed Palin’s unsuccessful political comeback in 2011, has been reassigned from his position in the Trump campaign where he organized rallies.
The move comes less than a week after Trump headlined a lightly attended Tulsa rally, for which the campaign bragged it had more than one million ticket requests.
In reality, fewer than 6,200 people attended, with some members of the republican Congressional delegation apparently filling the role of seat fillers in the empty arena. Trump was roundly mocked in the media for the underwhelming turnout, with images of the dismantling of an unused outdoor stage serving as a metaphor for the rally’s failure.
As Axios reports, the head of Trump’s 2016 Arizona campaign, Jeff DeWit, will join the national campaign as Chief Operating Officer, which presumably will include rally organizing. Rumors say the change was orchestrated by the White House Son-in-Law Jared Kushner.
