If only he’d not gotten tested.
Oklahoma’s republican governor, Kevin Stitt, has tested positive for the coronavirus, becoming the first governor in the state to report contracting the virus, according to Oklahoma City’s News 9.
The announcement comes just three weeks after Stitt appeared at a Trump rally in Tulsa where masks and social distancing standards were not required.
Oklahoma has seen a spike in coronavirus cases in the weeks since the event. The state reported 993 new cases yesterday, shattering its previous single-day high.
Stitt reported that overall he “feels fine” but that his symptoms are a “sniffly cold.”
No statement from the governor, however, on whether he blames the test for giving him a case of coronavirus or if he thinks he would’ve been fine if he had not gotten the test.
