A 2004 Access Hollywood tape of then-businessman and unsuccessful presidential candidate Donald Trump attempting to vote at multiple polling places is again making the rounds on social media as Trump claims that mail-in voting leads to fraud, CNN reports.
In the video, Trump is accompanied by Billy Bush as he visits three separate Manhattan polling places, being turned away at each because he is not registered to vote in those precincts. After his third attempt, Trump takes a provisional ballot, which he fills in the back of his limousine.
“I just voted,” Trump bragged. “At least you can say the Trumpster doesn’t give up.”
Trump has recently railed against mail-in voting in speeches, at rallies and on Twitters, saying it was rife with fraud and would delegitimize the election. There is no evidence that mail-in voting leads to widespread fraud.
Trump himself voted via a mail-in ballot in 2018, although he distinguishes it as an “absentee ballot,” although it is the exact same process and ballot. A provisional ballot is also a paper ballot identical to mail-in ballots, except it is typically filled out at the polling site, not in the back of a limousine.
