Two former Presidents noted presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden has helped to rebuild the economy after he became Vice President, in Barack Obama’s presidency, through a policy and habit of leadership and hard work.
Former First Lady Rosalyn Carter noted that Biden wants better wages for front line health workers, as well as all working class Americans. President Jimmy Carter noted that Joe Biden was his first ally in the Senate when he came to Washington after his election in 1976. Both noted the character of the man who lost his wife and child in a car accident and who put his family first, but never forgot his duty to his constituents.
President Bill Clinton struck at Trump’s self-involvement saying that he first said the coronavirus was under control and when on bragging about what a great job he was doing as handling the pandemic.
“When he didn’t like the expert advice he was given,” Clinton said, “he ignored it, saying ‘it is what it is’.”
Clinton went on to say, “At a time like this, the Oval Office should be a command center. It is storm center.”
Clinton did, however, state that there were people who may want someone in the White House who spends “hours a day watching tv or zapping people on social media, then he’s your man.”
