Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden condemned the violence happening in Portland, calling it “unacceptable,” and he challenged President Trump to do the same.
The deadly violence we saw overnight in Portland is unacceptable. Shooting in the streets of a great American city is unacceptable.
I condemn violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right. And I challenge Donald Trump to do the same. https://t.co/JRuI7ya2Wv

Trump and many on the right have defended the use of violence and guns in places like Portland and Kenosha, Wisconsin; Fox “News” personality Tucker Carlson has even defended the right-wing vigilante who killed two people in Kenosha.
Trump himself has called his supporters going into Portland “Great Patriots [sic]” even as they allegedly shot peaceful protesters with paintballs and peppersprayed others.
GREAT PATRIOTS! https://t.co/BWGxVoBTmI
