Navajo Nation Council Speaker Crystalyne Curley on Thursday told other members of the indigenous tribe’s council that she’s been getting reports of her people being arrested by ICE, the Arizona Mirror reports on the usual fucked up shit happening on the Planet of The MAGA Apes.

“We now know that Navajo people and enrolled members of other tribes are being detained in Phoenix and other cities by ICE,” Curley said during a committee meeting on Thursday. “The reports that we have received indicate that we need to coordinate an operation or some type of response to help our enrolled tribal members here on the Navajo Nation.” A press release by the nation details an individual case of a member being interrogated for nine hours. “Senator Theresa Hatathlie reported virtually on a case in which a Navajo citizen was detained for nine hours, highlighting the need for emergency protocols. She stressed that many tribal members struggle with documentation, which has worsened under the recent ICE sweeps. Despite possessing Certificates of Indian Blood (CIBs) and state-issued IDs, several individuals have been detained or questioned by ICE agents who do not recognize these documents as valid proof of citizenship. Speaker Curley called for swift action from the Executive Branch, noting previous responses have been insufficient.”
