With just 4% of the world population, the United States as recorded approximately 25% of coronavirus cases worldwide. The number of cases in the US is likely higher than the confirmed number with asymptomatic cases going unrecorded.
The case fatality rate in the United States is 3%, among the worst in the world. The US ranks 11th worldwide in per capita fatalities, 9th among countries with more than 100,000 population.
