Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron will present information about the death of Louisville EMT Breonna Taylor, who was shot by police executing a no-knock warrant, to a grand jury which will decide on appropriate charges, NBC News reports.
The state AG is expected to release its findings and the determination of the grand jury relating to three police officers who fired their weapons the night Taylor was killed as officers raided her apartment in a search for an acquaintance of hers.
The Louisville has already dismissed one officer who wantonly fired his weapon ten times into the apartment, spraying bullets through a patio door, at least one of which traveled through a wall into a neighboring residence. The other two officers are on administrative leave.
“When the investigation concludes and a decision has been made, we will provide an update about an announcement,” Cameron said in a statement. “The news will come from our office and not unnamed sources. Until that time, the investigation remains ongoing.”
Taylor was killed while lying in bed March 13th when police burst into her apartment unannounced. Her boyfriend was able to find a handgun and returned fire, thinking the pair were being robbed. A shot wounded a police office. He escaped harm in the incident.
