On Thursday Rasmussen released the results of their Michigan poll which showed Biden leading Trump 51 to 43 in the state. Combined with their recent Ohio (Biden 49 – Trump 45) and Wisconsin (Biden 51 – Trump 43) surveys, and assuming the entire rest of the map is the same as 2016, that puts Joe Biden at 276 electoral college votes and ends the MAGA Reich.
Rasmussen is often cited by Trump fans as the most accurate pollster of 2016, which is true when you look at it by the spread: their final national poll result on 11/6/2016 was Clinton 45 – Trump 43, when the ultimate result in the popular vote was Clinton 48.2 – Trump 46.1, no one else had it at Clinton +2, per RealClearPolitics.
Of course, Rasmussen seriously fucked up in the 2018 Generic Congressional Ballot, they were the only pollster to show the GOP in the lead at +1, a poll finding that was off nearly 10 points from the ultimate result – So just have a laugh at their swing state poll results this year being completely off base from their presidential approval polls (and national presidential polls, which most weeks have showed a much closer race than the others) and just act as if they’re made up parody polls otherwise – good news for Biden or not.
