The head of the nonpartisan commission running the presidential and vice president debates says the commissions never received any requests from either campaign reported to have been made in the run-up to the first debate, the Washington Post reports.
Asked if he had responded to the Trump camp’s allegation that Biden wanted a break after 30-minute periods or that Trump wants Biden checked for a hidden communication device in his ear–or a Biden campaign suggestion that Trump didn’t want the moderator to mention 200,000 people who died from the coronavirus, commission chair Frank Fahrenkopf laughed.
“They must be talking to each other. The commission has not heard of any of these.” He added: “It’s amazing, isn’t it? You can’t make it up.”
