In what can only be described as a sea of red flannel, Donald Trump took to the campaign trail in Duluth, Minnesota Wednesday night for a rally to try to spin his disastrous debate performance and project his many errors onto Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
“You know Biden lost badly when his supporters are saying he should cancel the rest of the debates,” Trump read off the teleprompter.
“Now I understand he’s canceling the debates,” Trump said, as if he just learned it from reading the teleprompter. “Let’s see what happens. I think that’s gonna be a good move for him. I don’t think that’s gonna be a good move, I really don’t.
“I [incomprehensible] television with those ratings, they’re never gonna let him Kelsey (?), you don’t know television like I do.” In fact, the overnight broadcast network television ratings were 36% lower than the first presidential debate in 2016.
“What are they gonna do. Y’know, someday we’re not going to be doing this anymore,” Trump promised. “What are they gonna do with Trump? What are they gonna– Oh, those poor people. Look at all of ’em,” Trump said pointing to the media pen. “Whoa! That’s a lotta people.”
Trump then hinted that he would be in office for more than a decade and a half longer.
“What are they gonna do?” Trump continued. “What are they gonna do in eight, twelve, maybe sixteen years, I say, ‘Let’s hang it up?’ Let’s end it. Sixteen more years.”
