Multiple members of the New England Patriots football team have tested positive for the coronavirus, and member of the Kansas City Chiefs also tested positive, prompting the league to postpone the team’s scheduled Sunday game, CBS Sports reports.
Quarterbacks for both teams–Chiefs back-up Jordan Ta’amu and starter Cam Newton for the Patriots–have tested positive. The game was supposed to take place in Kansas City; it is unclear if the Patriots had already traveled to Kansas City for the game.
This is the second game to be postponed by the league this week due to coronavirus outbreaks. The Pittsburgh Steelers game at the Tennessee Titans was previously rescheduled because of an outbreak among Titans players and staff.
(3:11 p.m. ET) NOTE: This report was updated, correcting an earlier report that Chiefs starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes tested positive. Mahomes is not COVID positive.
