White House physician Cmdr. Sean Conley released a statement late this evening that President Trump is receiving the anti-viral medication Remdesivir as part of treatment for coronavirus.
“This afternoon, in consultation with specialists from Walter Reed and Johns Hopkins University, I recommended movement of the President up to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for further monitoring,” the statement read.
“This evening, I am happy to report the President is doing very well,” the message continued. “He is not requiring any supplemental oxygen, but in consultation with specialists, we have elected to initiate Remdesivir therapy. He has completed his first dose and is resting comfortably.”
Earlier in the day, the White House announced that Trump had received a dose of Regeneron’s experimental polyclonal antibody cocktail.
The GOP House Minority Leader, California republican Kevin McCarthy, tweeted, “I just got off the phone with President Trump. He was upbeat and told me that he appreciates all the prayers and support from everyone. Our president is strong and will beat the virus!”
Trump is apparently not going to take either hydroxychloroquine or oleander extract as a treatment, nor will he inject disinfectant or undergo internal UV light therapy, as he repeated suggested people do to treat coronavirus.
