First, Fox “News” turned down the “Hunter Biden laptop is full of kompromat” story. Then the Wall Street Journal said it was a great big bunch of nuthin’.
Now add Russian President Vladimir Putin to the list of people who fail to see any scandal in Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s son’s action, NBC News reports.
“Yes, in Ukraine he [Hunter Biden] had or maybe still has a business, I don’t know. It doesn’t concern us. It concerns the Americans and the Ukrainians,” said Putin. “But well yes he had at least one company, which he practically headed up, and judging from everything he made good money. I don’t see anything criminal about this, at least we don’t know anything about this [being criminal].”
Putin, long an idol of incumbent republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, slapped down any discussion of his connections to the widow of a Russian mayor who invested money in an venture fund founded by Hunter Biden and others.
Trump has falsely claimed that Hunter Biden personally received $3.5 million from Elena Baturina, the widow of the man who had been Moscow’s mayor until 2010. The money, in fact, went into a corporate account for Rosemont Seneca Thornton, a venture fund co-founded by Hunter Biden which invested pooled funds into various companies in the US and abroad.
An investigation by the republican-led Senate found no wrongdoing or unethical actions by Hunter Biden or Joe Biden relating to the actions of Rosemont Seneca Thornton.
