Incumbent republican Senator David Perdue’s vote tally has fallen under the critical 50% mark as Georgia wraps up its ballot count, meaning that the race is likely to go to a January 5th runoff election, the New York Times reports.
At the end of Election Night, Perdue held a 10-percentage point lead over Democratic challenger Jon Ossoff. The Georgia Secretary of State noted that there were 50,000 unprocessed ballots remaining, while the Times reports that 100,000 votes remain uncounted.
