According to WFTV ABC-9 News, Universal Orlando notified 1,123 employees that they will be laid off by the end of the year, another sign that the coronavirus pandemic is adversely impacting the travel and tourism industry.
This is the second major round of layoff at Universal Orlando; early this year, they furloughed 5,000 workers as the amusement park saw a sharp decline in visitors. In this round of layoffs, no hourly employees are impacted.
