The United States hit a seven-month high in daily fatalities on Tuesday due to the coronavirus, recording more than 2,400 fatalities according to the COVID Tracking Project.
The nation also recorded more than 177,000 cases Tuesday and nearly 98,700 people hospitalized due to the coronavirus, a record high that foretells a sustained number of deaths in the near future.
Texas, California and Illinois each recorded more than 10,000 new cases according to Worldometers, and nine state had more than 100 fatalities registered, with Texas leading with 237.
Note that some of these numbers may be skewed because of reporting irregularities due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
