The former head of the federal government’s office of election cybersecurity, Christopher Krebs, suggested on NBC’s “Today” show that he’ll take legal action against Trump lawyer and Fox News commentator Joe DiGenova, who said Krebs “is a class A moron. He should be drawn and quartered. Taken out at dawn and shot.”
“It’s certainly more dangerous language, more dangerous behavior,” Krebs responded. “And the way I look at it is that we are a nation of laws, and I plan to take advantage of those laws. I’ve got an exceptional team of lawyers that win in court, and I think they’re probably going to be busy.”
Outgoing president Donald Trump fired Krebs via tweet two weeks ago after Krebs declared that there was no evidence of election interference, vote tampering or cyber intrusion in the November election.
As the Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Krebs’ statement backs up a statement released by the joint committee responsible for US cybersecurity during elections.
DiGenova, a lawyer on Trump’s Elite Special Force Team promoting debunked conspiracy theories and generally wasting the Court’s resources, made his statement to radio talk show host Howie Carr, whose show is simulcast on Newsmax.
