In what can only be described as a combination of a tent revival, poor man’s Trump rally and in-person Infowar broadcast, Sidney Powell and L. Lin Wood held a “Stop the Steal” rally in the lobby of an office building in Atlanta.
Disgraced former general Michael Flynn and state representative Vernon Jones were in attendance. Wood even suggested at one point that the 2024 Republican ticket should be Powell-Flynn 2024.
Wood repeatedly called on the couple hundred people in attendance, none of whom were wearing masks, to boycott the upcoming Georgia runoff election and stop financially supporting Republican candidates Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, as well as the Republican National Committee.
Powell and Wood repeated called for Georgia election officials to reject the use of machines–specifically Chinese-made machines and/or Dominion machines–for use in the upcoming runoff. Powell insisted that votes be cast on paper ballots–ignoring the fact that Dominion machines scan paper ballots filled out by voters–and demanded that every ballot have the thumbprint of the voter stamped on it.
Powell went on to expand on her claim that Dominion software was tainted, now claiming that all electronic voting machines in use across the nation–regardless of manufacturer–had contaminated software on it that flipped votes to Biden.
After a woman (who was incongruously carrying a dog) related a story where she was early voting at her local library and after she completed her ballot, a poll worker took her ballot, looked at the QR code on the top of the ballot, and directed her to a *specific Dominion scanning machine* to scan her ballot. This, she claimed, is evidence that one machine was for Trump voters (which *obviously* had all files deleted) while the other machine was for Biden votes. It wouldn’t have been that the two scanners were set up for different voting precincts, to accommodate different ballots, because that would make too much sense.
Wood then took the mic from the woman and said, “I’ll tell you what I didn’t know. … I never knew that my vote was going to leave Fulton County, pass through Venezuela, Canada, find its way over to Barcelona or Frankfurt, and that I cast it–and we just learned this–on a machine with software that is 75% owned by the Communist Party of China.”
All that, of course, is bullshit.
Asked by a woman who says she “ingests the news she chooses to ingest” what they should say when people think they’re crazy, Powell said “It’s just extremely difficult. The mainstream press is effectively brainwashing people.” Powell said that her adherents should “is to have a calm, factual conversation, but at the same time, we have to realize that the power of the media to lie is so overwhelming that it’s very hard for some people who won’t go through original source material or be open to the facts to confront reality that’s really in front of them.”
When a rational person asked why the hand recount done by Georgia did not uncover 50,000 votes stolen from Trump, Wood claimed inexplicably that it was the machines that changed them. Powell falsely claimed that the entire state did not do a hand recount, just one precinct did. And, she claimed, that when the machines counted the ballots, “it was weighted 0.52 for Biden and 0.48 for Trump,” without explaining how that didn’t match the individual recount of ballots.
