As Joe Biden was being sworn in as President of the United States, the government of China was announcing it was placing sanctions on former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and 27 other former Trump administration officials for “crazy actions that have gravely interfered in China’s internal affairs,” Reuters reports.
“These individuals and their immediate family members are prohibited from entering the mainland of China, Hong Kong and Macao. They and companies and institutions associated with them are also restricted from doing business with China,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
