Ex-president Donald Trump has allegedly found a lawyer to represent him in his upcoming impeachment trial, according to Punchbowl News.
Butch Bowers of Columbia, South Carolina will represent Trump, according to South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who made the announcement in a GOP conference call Thursday.
A former chairman of the South Carolina Election Commission, Power’s website does not list any experience in Constitutional law, although he has an extensive background in election law.
“At the Bowers Law Office, we represent businesses, senior elected officials, government agencies, political campaigns, and advocacy organizations,” the website states. “We advise our clients on their litigation matters, legislative and regulatory issues, and crisis management strategies.” While he uses the plural “we,” he’s the only attorney listed in his firm.
A member of the South Carolina Air National Guard, Bowers “holds the federally-recognized rank of Colonel” according to his website. He lists a 1998 JD from Tulane University as his education.
The fact that he shares the same name as the sadistic father in Stephen King’s It seems to be purely coincidental.
