There’s some reluctance from Dem leadership in both the House and Senate to go nuclear on assholes like Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Madison Cawthorn, Paul Gosar, Louie Gohmert, Andy Biggs, Tommy Tuberville – to say nothing of the chickenshit Republican “leadership” – where they hope against hope that, you know, if they get the hint they might resign in shame if someone puts up enough billboards or some primary opponent comes after them in 18 months (or much longer in the case of the Senators) from now and knocks them off. Like they can’t be expelled because that would set a dangerous precedent and blah blah blah, they can’t be sanctioned otherwise because nothing ever happens in either chamber, and anyway that would deprive their voters of representation because Democracy.
Nobody ever really raises the question though – do these voters deserve representation if this is who they send to make their case to the rest of the American people? Seriously. It’s not like Marjorie Taylor Greene is going to take a call from a Dem voter in her district who wants her to support increased public investment in wind energy projects. She’s more likely to post that voter’s home address, say there’s missing children chained to a pipe in their basement, and call on “armed patriots” to go liberate them than she is to say she’ll think about it. So it’s not like folks in Georgia’s 14th district who didn’t vote for Greene are missing out on anything.
Those that did vote for her should go fuck themselves. Seriously. This isn’t a deep disagreement over federal highway funding or even Obamacare. This is a fundamental schism between real America and autocratic anarchy. You cannot be trusted with Democracy if you’re voting for someone who wants to blame our problems on wealthy Jews and their space lasers. You can’t be trusted with it, you do not deserve it, it does not matter if you’ve been culturally conditioned or brainwashed by Fox News and TheGreatAwakening.win or whatever other excuse the mainstream want to make for these people voting for evil. “Disenfranchising” people should not be a bad thing if they’re trying to destroy everything that was once good and decent about this country. Suzerainty has happened before, it can happen again. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer need to unseat these assholes one way or another, as soon as possible, and worry about mutually assured destruction at another time. It’s time to stop pretending this situation can be salvaged.
