Former Georgia Republican Senator David Perdue has filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to run for the Senate in 2022 in a campaign in which he will take on incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock.
Perdue lost his reelection bid to Democrat Jon Ossoff in a January 5th runoff. Incumbent Kelly Loeffler, who was appointed to fill the seat vacated by Republican Johnny Isakson by Republican Governor Brian Kemp, lost her campaign to Warnock in the same runoff election.
