With Wisconsin Republican Senator and serial pain in the ass Ron Johnson absent from the chamber, Maryland Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen took to the floor after the reading of the entire American Rescue Act bill ended at 2 a.m. Friday to move that debate of the bill be limited to three hours from the traditional 20 hours, thereby making the 17 hour stunt by Johnson moot.
With no Republicans there to object, the motion was passed without objection. The Senate took up floor debate and the “vote-o-rama” at noon on Friday.
