More than 13% of the US population, 35 million people, are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus as the nation tops the 100 million milestone for doses administered, according to CNBC. Roughly the same number of people have received one dose of a two-dose regimen.
The US has been average 2.3 million doses administered per day over the last week, with a peak of 2.9 million administered Wednesday. Doses administered has increased steadily in the past three weeks, when 1.7 million were being administered, on average, the week of February 17th.
President Joe Biden promised that 100 million people would be vaccinated within the first 100 days of his administration. When he took office, roughly 15 million people had received at least one dose of a vaccine, meaning in his first 51 days in office, more than 85 million doses have been administered.
