The asteroid Apophis will not impact Earth in the next 100 years, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration announced, revising an earlier estimate that the 1,100-foot space rock would come uncomfortably close to our planet in 2029, Space.com reports.
Apophis was first discovered in 2004, astronomers gave it a 2.4% chance of impacting Earth on April 13, 2029. Apophis has a near-Sun orbit, going just beyond the orbit of Venus on its aphelion (the closest point to the Sun) and just beyond the orbit of Earth on its perihelion (the farthest point from the Sun). It orbits the Sun once in roughly 323.6 days.
Of course, they could be just saying this to keep us compliant so the Deep State and rocket off just before impact….
