The web store at DonaldJTrump.com is selling a t-shirt bearing Trump’s image from a lame old meme aping HBO’s Game of Thrones and its iconic title typeface. It may be too small to see from the image of the web page here, but below “Freedom is Coming” is “7.7.21”.
Having looked back at National Zero articles from that date, we see that it was when Trump convened a press conference at his Bedminster, New Jersey country club to announce he was suing Facebook, Twitter, and their respective founder/CEOs, Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey, so we guess that’s probably what the shirt is commemorating. There’s nothing else to our knowledge – MAGA rallies, QAnon reinstatement fantasy, etc – from July 7th the shirt could be in reference to.
Which is pretty fucking stupid. We can’t recall any further hype from the Orange Pharaoh on this lawsuit, nor any news of motions or court appearances for the plaintiffs or defendants. The main argument Trump and his assclown lawyers used in their complaint was already shot down in court when racist scumbag Laura Loomer tried it, so it’s only a matter of time before the case dies a lonely death. We’ll go ahead and hypothesize that the shirt was offered for sale prior to July 7th to build up fanboy anticipation for the “huge announcement”, didn’t sell out, and is still available on the store 35 days later because Trump and his minions are too cheap and greedy to donate their leftovers to charity. It’d also be kind of embarrassing for the Donald if a photo of a Cameroonian teenager wearing the t-shirt while farming sugar cane surfaced some time next year and served as a cruel reminder of his by-then failed post-presidential crusade against the first amendment.
