“A day after promising more transparency, the Hochul administration has acknowledged 12,000 additional COVID deaths in the state. That brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the state up to 55,395, a jump from 43,400 reported by the Cuomo administration” WCBS reports.
This isn’t exactly an earthshaking change to the total, as the NY Times’s tracker, among others, did include those deaths that had not been officially acknowledged by Cuomo’s administration.
