The Marine lieutenant colonel who took to social media to complain about the senior leadership of the Marine Corps and the Biden Administration has pleaded guilty of six counts including conduct unbecoming an officer and disobeying an order, the Washington Post reports.
Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller admitted all actions he was charged with, explaining that his life began spiralling down after he posted his first video questioning Marine leadership and Biden policy after 13 US service members were killed during the Afghanistan pullout. Scheller said he was shunned by other Marine officers, and his wife left him.
Scheller also pleaded guilty to charges of disrespect toward superior commissioned officers, willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer, and dereliction in the performance of duties. With his plea agreement, the maximum sentence he can receive at his Friday sentencing hearing is a letter of reprimand and seizure of two-thirds of his pay for the next twelve months, equalling tens of thousands of dollars.
