It appears State Farm Insurance is very unhappy with Green Bay Packers Quarterback and Homeopathic Healthcare fan Aaron Rodgers. While watching the Buffalo Bills/Jacksonville Jaguars game on NBC, this author cannot recall seeing a single State Farm ad featuring Aaron Rodgers. There were plenty of ads for State Farm, but they all featured Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and “Jake from State Farm”, played by actor Kevin Miles.
Aaron Rodgers recently tested positive for Covid19, and then managed to dig his own grave in news coverage by claiming that he’d received “homeopathic treatments”, received medical advice from right-wing radio troll Joe Rogan, and was taking Ivermectin to treat his illness
NBC Sportstalk reported that another company, “Prevea Health said plenty about its relationship with Aaron Rodgers, ending the nine-year partnership. Also on Saturday, State Farm said nothing about its own long-term relationship with the Packers quarterback. Via Adrianne Pasquarelli of AdAge.com, a State Farm spokesperson declined to comment on the company’s relationship with Rodgers. ‘It would be inappropriate for us to comment on Aaron’s vaccination status,’ the spokesperson told Pasquarelli via email.”
Whatever Rodgers’ status is as insurance company spokesman is at the current moment, at least (apparently) he’s being replaced merely by another NFL quarterback and/or actor playing a regular call center employee, which is a hell of a lot better than a certain gratingly ubiquitous and detestable middle-aged shop girl and her fey assistant, or a clownish 1970s cop-like character and large flightless bird in a yellow squad car that won’t take a fucking hint either.
5:08pm update: Watching the “State Farm Bowl” on FOX. No State Farm commercials featuring Aaron Rodgers so far. Also, the FOX NFL team of hosts ripped Rodgers in a broadcast that ran before the game.
