WESH NBC-2 Orlando: “Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference with Senate President Wilton Simpson and House of Representatives Speaker Chris Sprowls in Zephyrhills on Monday. The governor said that no one should be losing their jobs over ‘these jabs,’ promising to step up to protect workers against ‘heavy-handed mandates.’
“‘We have got to stand up for people and protect their jobs and livelihoods,’ he said. ‘It’s wrong to kick people out of work. It’s wrong to micromanage business like that.’ He says the legislature will use the special session he called for to propose bills that will strengthen workers’ and parents’ rights. He added he suspects ‘no Democrat will help any of these workers’ during a special session.
“The governor said the decision to have children vaccinated should be up to parents alone. DeSantis said he will fight against vaccine mandates to stand up for the Constitution.”
