Doctors went 30-year-old Candice Davis with a horrible choice: amputate your arms and legs that became atrophied because of the coronavirus, or die.
The unvaccinated South Philadelphia resident with no pre-existing conditions had spent three weeks in an induced coma as she was put on a ventilator. During that time, she suffered a rare condition caused by COVID: the loss of blood circulation in her extremities. Her muscles and flesh were literally crumbling. It’s a condition that would ultimately lead to her death.
“I said, If my arms gotta go, they gotta go,” she told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “It’s my life. … That’s why people need to be vaccinated: My brother lost his taste and smell for a while. I lost my limbs.”
