Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom announced Tuesday that all health care workers in the state will be required to get the vaccine booster shot to be considered fully vaccinated and stay on the job, Politico reports.
“Omicron is spreading rapidly and we must do all we can to keep staff at hospitals and medical facilities healthy and safe to protect Californians during a potential winter surge,” Newsom tweeted late Tuesday afternoon. California requires health care workers to be fully vaccinated.
