Far right anti-government, anti-vaccine protesters set fire to the Old Parliament House in Canberra, the seat of the national Australian legislature from 1927 to 1988. The building, reopened in 2008 as the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, suffered extensive damage.
Far-right pundits initially claimed that a native “smoking” ritual–the use of smoke by aboriginal tribes to ride a structure of evil spirits–had gone awry causing the fire, but the video above shows people intentionally setting and feeding the flames.
