The nation’s second largest school district, with 665,000 students and 26,000 teachers, announced Monday that all students, faculty and staff will have to provide proof of a negative coronavirus test before returning to classes next Monday, KTLA Los Angeles reports.
The policy from the Los Angeles Unified School District is independent of the individual’s vaccination status, so at least 700,000 people in the Los Angeles area must get tested in the next six days. The school district is providing the tests for free at various school campuses around the city.
