A Baltimore City government employee didn’t want to take time off work, so he decided to use the city work truck he was driving to attempt to abscond with an automatic teller machine from a local convenience store, WBAL NBC-11 Baltimore reports.
Responding to a report of a burglary, Baltimore County police spotted an ATM with chains wrapped around it at a store in Owings Mills, outside the Baltimore City line, and a 2019 Ford F-550 back up in front of it. The city government logos on the doors were taped over, as was the front license plate.
Police chased Kirk Parker Jr., 36, and arrested him a few blocks away. Parker has been charged with second-degree burglary, theft, malicious destruction of property and several other charges.
