A Trump-loving Tennessee state legislator apologized Wednesday after being ejected from his son’s prep school basketball game for trying to start a fight with a referee and attempting to “pants” him, the The Tennessean reports…. because a scholastic basketball game should be the cause of violence in MAGALand.
Jeremy Faison, the GOP state legislature caucus leader, attended his son’s Lakeway Christian Academy basketball game against Providence Academy. At some point, Faison became incensed at a call by a referee and stormed out of the stands to confront the official.
“Unfortunately, I acted the fool tonight and lost my temper on a ref. I was wanting him to fight me,” Faison said in a unique dialect in a statement on his social media accounts. “Totally lost my junk and got booted from the from the [sic] gym. I’ve never really lost my temper for all to see, but I did tonight and it was completely stupid of me. Emotions getting in the way of rational thoughts are never good. I hope to be able to find the ref and ask for his forgiveness. I was bad wrong.”
Faison has a history of seeking forgiveness rather than taking steps to prevent the problem in the first place. In 2019, he was involved in a serious car accident in which he suffered a broken rib, head laceration and other injuries because he wasn’t wearing his seat belt, as is required by law but apparently he doesn’t think the law applies to him because it impacts his freedoms. He’s now an advocate for wearing seat belts.
In September 2020, Faison had an audience with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago. He has not yet apologized for that.
