The Coast Guard continues to search for survivors after a boat suspected in a human trafficking operation overturned in open water around 50 miles northeast of Miami, with 39 people reported missing, Reuters reports.
A passing boat found one man clinging to the bottom of an overturned boat. He told officials that the boat was carrying 40 people and overturned when it became unstable in rough water as it hit a storm.
This tragedy occurred just three days after the Coast Guard rescues 32 people from another overturned boat in the same area.
