Gladstone, Missouri man Ryan Utterback, a parent who fought to ban LGBTQ-themed books from school libraries has been arrested on charges of second-degree child molestation and fourth-degree domestic assault, as well as a charge of furnishing pornographic material or attempting to furnish to a minor in a separate case, KMBC reports. “You know, I definitely understand their struggles. It’s not lost on me,” Utterback told KMBC after a school board meeting November.
“Those conversations are to be had at home and only I have the intimate understanding of what is and isn’t appropriate for my children,” he told the station after complaining about “pornographic” material in books carried by school libraries. The furnishing pornographic material charge specifically alleges Utterback showed a four year old child a porn video on his phone.
